Géotic is happy to announce the arrival of a new product in its sofware family. GeoticCAD is a drawing software designed to optimize the performances of GeoticLog and GeoticGraph.

GeoticCAD presents an environment rather similar to AutoCAD, already familiar with several of you, but contrarily to other competing products, GeoticCAD uses its own drawing engine and doesn't require the use of AutoCAD. This results in an increased autonomy and a cost reduction.

GeoticCAD can use the formats supported by GeoticGraph (JPG, PNG, DWG, TIF, PGN…) but is optimized to use VDF format, which is the native format of Géotic. This new software will allow you for example to join multiple sections in one drawing simply and automatically without worrying about insertion points. You'll then be able to visualize the sections one by one to add a geological interpretation to it while making the neighbouring sections in gray. You won't have to worry about complicated rotations; GeoticCAD automatically recognizes all the coordinate systems (World, Measure, and Plot) defined at the creation of the sections with GeoticGraph, and allows you to pass from a system to another by a simple click. You will be able to complete your drawing by automatically adding an arrow indicating the North, a graphical scale, or a legend explicating the color codes used at the creation of your sections or by importing the graphical elements from other sources like AutoCAD or Gemcom.

Géotic benefited from this occasion to add a myriad of new functionalities and several improvements to GeoticLog and GeoticGraph. The very large majority of your addition or modifiation suggestions have been added to our two founding software.

Thus, GeoticLog now allows to

- Change the order of the different assay/geochemistry titles at the display of these and at the journals printing.
- Enter the dates and the numbers of the assay/geochemistry certificates.
- Authorize the use of an all going sample number ‘‘-’’ instead of forcing a unique sequential number.
- Include up to 6 data fields (defined by the user) in the geophysics table ('At point'). The original format of this data is no longer limited to the 'GDD' format, but any current delimiter.
- Use 'in sheet' format of Excel at importation and exportation. This format is much more flexible and robust than the 'Template' format previously used.
- Include and reference photographs of the drilling cores. As well as associating a photo to a certain interval of the hole, you will be able to reference any interval (an assay, an alteration, a vein, etc.) and you'll be able to reference to it easily later on.
- Archive DDHs, secure the database, and make backup copies.
- Verify the integrity of the intervals of the descriptive tables (overlaps, gaps, etc.)
- No longer use the GeoticLog.ini file; the list of the addresses of the usable databases is now saved in the registry base. This method amongst other things allows a better integration in Vista.

GeoticGraph now allows to

- Write the coordinate of the four sides of the drawing, not only on two sides.
- Use the complementary lines of the medium and large title boxes to add information as 'Drawn by:', 'Verified by:', etc.
- Add the information concerning the entry, exit, and intersection points of the sections. This information can include the distance along the hole, the XYZ coordinates, or the distance from the "center" of the section.
- Trace bar graphs perpendicular to the trace of the hole to represent you regular or geochemical assay results.
- Share the drawing profiles with other users of your network.
- Add a legend text in the alphanumeric and structure codes for the creation of legends in GeoticCAD.
- The interface is also available in Spanish.
- The precision of the limits of the holes between sections and on the sections limit has been corrected.

The Geotic team continually works at the amelioration of our products. Our principal objectives for the next months are:

- The incorporation of photos in GeoticGraph/GeoticCAD: which will allow for example to compare the photos representing the intersection of a given zone between 2 holes.
- The addition of reports and graphs to treat the QAQC information.
