1. Q. All the standard dictionaries seem to be in english only.
A. Download an update of the standard dictionaries here. Note that this update will not affect the databases already created. With this update, you will now be able to create new databases with the dictionaries in the same language that the interface that created it.

2. Q. Are GeoticLog databases of previous version compatible with the new versions of the software?
R. At the opening of a database in GeoticLog 5, you will be asked if you want to update your database. GeoticLog 5 and GeoticGraph 3 require a GeoticLog 5 database. The updated databases can't be opened in GeoticLog 4 or GeoticGraph 2.

3. Q. Why do we have to pay annual fees to keep the licence active?
R. The annual fees allow us to finance the development of improvements of the software as well as the support given to you, our clients.

4. Q. The software give the error "Local Dongle Err:92" at the opening.
R. The drivers of the dongle (USB protection key) have not been updated correctly. You must execute an uninstaller of the previous drivers. Download it here. After having restarted the computer, you must execute the Geotic tools installer. Download it here.

5. Q. A database won't be added to the list, an error message indicates that it doesn't have the right file structure.
R. Only the version 5 databases having the right file structure can be added to the database list.
The structure of the directories of the database is:
*DB Path*\
     --> *DB name*\
          --> Data\ - Contains the *DB name*.mdb file which is the database per say
          --> Excel\ - (optional) Should be used for the Excel importation/exportation
          --> Geophys\ - (optional) Will contain the geophysics importations/exportations
          --> Photos\ - (optional) Will contain the photos
For example, C:\DataGeotic\Drilling\Data_log.mdb can't be added.
However, C:\DataGeotic\Drilling\Data_log\Data\Data_log.mdb can be.

6. Q. The creation of a database and other actions give errors with Windows 98.
R. Windows 98 doesn't include the database engines by default. They must be downloaded here. Execute the 2 installers contained in the compressed file.
